My new obsession: Anti-gravity

Some things are just hard to fathom. Others you can wrap your mind around without any trouble. Still others fall into the category of easy to imagine, yet full of holes. Anti-gravity falls into the latter of those categories for me, and is my new obsession.

Rudy

Rudy Giuliani
I think he’s smart to actually put a platform out early on rather than sit around waiting for opinion polls to shape his platform. He is appealing to the base that Bush forgot. I’m not saying that I’m considering rejoining the ranks of the Republican party or anything, but as a social conservative it is important to me that someone is willing to stand for something.

Deep Thought #1

If I ever have a band, our first album is gonna be called “Greatest Hits” because then people will definitely rush out to buy the ultimate collection of our best tunes.

Peer recognition that isn’t stupid

Morale around work has been pretty low lately. I’ve been scrambling to think of ways to lighten things up. I don’t exactly come off as the playful, fun-loving guyThat was easy that I am (I think I’m usually just too deep in my own thoughts to notice or acknowledge others much of the time), so it was an interesting study in quick creativity.

I mulled over the idea of an awards program, and settled on the Easy Button Awards (a.k.a. “The Easies”). Now I’m not a manager or a director or anything, but I have been in the past. I think that peer recognition is cool if it’s done in a way that is not embarassing to the recipient — nobody likes to be elevated above their peers in front of their peers….at least, nobody who’s normal.

It’s kind of a silly idea, and probably short-lived; but I think it is a start. It didn’t help morale much in the short-term, though. One of my co-workers actually announced her departure shortly after I nominated her for and awarded her with the first Easy Award. I hope the two aren’t releated. Hmmmmmmmm….

A movie in the works?

I swear to you all now that I have a sweet idea for a movie. I know what you’re saying: “You have incredible ideas daily. Why would we even raise an eyebrow now that you’ve thought of a movie?” I understand, but I’m telling you it’s a winner.

Genre? Oh, I’d say a cross between sci-fi, futuristic thriller, social commentary, etc. It deals with many social paradoxes.

If you’re a screenwriter looking for a break, maybe I’ll consider sharing co-author credit. At the least, you’ll be in for a nice piece of the action.
