As far as Internet scams go…
I think this one falls into the “Irony” category.

This actually falls into the “Politicians who don’t already have enough to do so they sit around dreaming up new, crackpot legislation,” but that was too long to fit into my sidebar.
Obviously, Sally Lieber didn’t get the attention she craved as a child, so she’s out to make sure that you don’t get to decide how best to discipline your child. She is failing miserably at life, and we are being told she failed miserably at her effort to introduce new legislation in California that would make spanking a crime.
Think this idea is far-fetched? Not really. In fact, while the news of the world is that she dropped her efforts, the truth is that she successfully introduced the bill to the California State Assembly today. She uses language like “use of force” instead.
Says Karen England, Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute:
Assemblywoman Lieber has claimed that she is no longer going to ban ‘spanking’. This is mere semantics as AB 755 on its face bans the use of force in disciplining a child.
This is a tactic often used by politicians to make their legislation seem benign when in fact it is still just as bad.
Parents often use a wooden spoon or ruler to spank their children. This legislation actually bans the use of ‘a stick, a rod, a switch, a belt’—tools often used by responsible parents in spanking disobedient children… [via ChristianNewsWire.com]
Think it couldn’t happen in your state? In your town? Don’t kid yourself. I’m not even a spanking advocate. I reserve that type of punishment as a last resort, and rarely need it. Kids respond to many other forms of punishment, but there are times when brute force is the only thing that will create a lasting impression.

Apparently. it’s encoded into our DNA not to hang all over one another when we converse. I’m glad someone took the time to write this gem of an article. It’s been a long time coming; and I, for one, have been losing sleep.

I was recently awakened from the slumber of a pleasant spring afternoon nap by the clamour of hammering and nailing. The sound was coming from the backyard of one of my neighbors. Imagine, if you can, my excitement when I peeked through the blinds to see this:
You can see the care and quality time put into both the planning and construction of this masterpiece. I really need to thank him for pushing up my property value. Btw, is that a gate?
This clown has two of the most annoying dogs in the world. They make it their business to bark every morning from 4am onward. It’s like an alarm clock — but a really bad one that goes off when you least want it to…oh, and did I mention there’s no snooze button?
Not only do they wake me up every morning, but they have to get the neighbors dogs involved too. They run up and down the fence getting 3 more dogs (all directly bordering my property as well) worked up into a frenzy.
I know he has an HOA, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have a building permit. I wonder what I should do? Maybe it’s time for an anonymous tip?

Here’s something I would have expected to come from the bowels of Dixie on this side of the pond, but the Brits have beat Billy Bob to the punch.
Sprayonmud can give you instant off-roader credibility, and also pulls double-duty as a way to obscure your license plate from speed or other traffic cameras.
